About this scholarship
The purpose of the Path-away Scholarship Fund is to support graduating high school seniors of any Albany County high school who wish to further their education at either an accredited four-year state college/university or other accredited four year private/nonprofit college outside the state of Wyoming. The Selection Committee gives first preference to students who have qualified for the highest level of Wyoming’s Hathaway Scholarship. However, all graduating seniors of an Albany County high school who qualify for any level of Hathaway funds but wish to attend school out of state will be considered.

Academic Requirements
Honors: Minimum 3.5 GPA and ACT score of 25, in addition to meeting other Hathaway requirements.
Performance: Minimum 3.0 GPA and ACT score of 21, in addition to meeting other Hathaway requirements.
Opportunity: Minimum 2.5 GPA and ACT score of 19, in addition to meeting other Hathaway requirements.
Must be enrolled full-time
Who is eligible?
Any graduating senior of an Albany County Highschool, excluding GED recipients, who will be attending an out-of-state 4-year University.
What is the amount of the scholarship?
$5,000 per year for Honors-level eligibility
$3,750 per year for Performance-level eligibility
$2,500 per year for Opportunity-level eligibility
What is the length of the scholarship?
Renewable scholarship, for up to 4 total years. To remain eligible for this scholarship for subsequent years, student must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA, continue attending an out-of-state school, and be enrolled full-time.

Essay questions will become visible to you if you are found eligible for this opportunity, after submitting the WYCF Common Scholarship Application. Essay answers should be between 2,000 and 3,000 characters. Aim for a response that is no fewer than 400 words long.
