Why Geographic Funds

Specific Causes. Specific Places.

Geographic and Field of Interest (FOI) funds allow donors to support causes statewide (such as the arts, education or the outdoors) or in a particular geographic area (such as Carbon County or Thermopolis).

A couple of examples

Dara & John Corkery of Gillette use their Geographic Fund to support what they are passionate about: the arts. Their Advocacy for Visual Arts Fund supports the AVA Community Art Center, which provides Gillette residents with a central place to create and show art.

The Kemmerers turned to WYCF to manage their existing foundation, with the forward-thinking goal of benefitting the communities they love: Kemmerer, Diamondville and the area known as Frontier. The scope of the fund is broad, meaning it can support a wide-range of issues, but the impact of the funds stays specific to the area.
