About this Scholarship

This scholarship was established to support graduates of any Natrona County School District #1 public high school who wish to further their education at an accredited four-year institution outside the state of Wyoming.

Who is eligible? 

Graduating seniors of a NCDS#1 Highschool

Residents/graduates of: Natrona County School District #1

Institution: A 4-year University not located within Wyoming

Field: Any

GPA: 2.5

Time requirement: Full-time

What is the amount of the Scholarship?

Merit criteria for this scholarship are based on those of the Wyoming Hathaway Scholarship. For example, if you would be eligible for the Honors level of the Wyoming Hathaway (more information) then you would be eligible for our Honors level of the Trailblazer.  

  • Honors: $5,000 per year for 4 years
  • Performance: $2,500 per year for 4 years

To renew this scholarship, recipients must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA, and continue full-time enrollment at a 4-year University not located in Wyoming

What is the length of the Scholarship?

4 years

Essay questions and additional Materials:

Essay answers should be between 2,000 and 3,000 characters. Aim for a response that is no fewer than 400 words long. Essay questions become accessible after submission of the WYCF Common Scholarship Application.

  • Essay question: Explain why you’ve chosen to pursue your education outside Wyoming and how you believe this experience will shape your future. Describe your career goals and how your confidence and desire drive you toward these aspirations.
  • Additional requirement: Two Recommendation letters from an educator or a community member. At least one of the recommendations must be an educator.
